Lindsay Baran
Lindsay Baran is an Associate Professor of Finance in the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship at Kent State University. She teaches undergraduate, masters, and doctoral courses in corporate finance. Lindsay’s research focuses on corporate finance and corporate governance with an emphasis on the role of the board of directors in governance. Previously Lindsay was an elementary school teacher in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Lindsay began her interest in philanthropy and service as an Americorps volunteer for two years teaching in a charter school in San Diego. She served as the treasurer of the PTO for Seton Catholic School and in several volunteer roles at St. Mary Parish in Hudson. Her family organizes an annual weekend of in-person volunteer service around Northeast Ohio in memory of her son, Vincent, who passed away in November 2020.
Lindsay graduated magna cum laude from Villanova University with a degree in Mathematical Sciences, received a Masters in Education from the University in San Diego, and earned her Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She has lived in Hudson since 2011 with her husband, Ben, and children Adelaide, Damien, Vincent, and Cecilia.
